Hi! My name is Mark Knox, and I am a follower of Jesus Christ, a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a friend.
If you like to learn just for the sake of learning, then you and I are kindred spirits! On the CliftonStrengths assessment, one of my top 5 strengths is “Learner,” which means I have a great desire to learn and continuously improve. I have dedicated my life to helping myself and others to improve, grow, and challenge the status quo.
That’s the purpose of my writing and speaking…to support you in your journey as a life-long learner, the main theme of this blog. I do that by writing on focused topics of CHRISTIAN THOUGHT (theology, philosophy, biblical literacy), CHURCH LIFE (worship ministry, spiritual formation), PRODUCTIVITY (organization, goal-setting, personal assessment), and LEADERSHIP (including educational excellence through classroom management), all from a biblically-informed world view.
It’s my hope to keep this blog busy with frequent posts and conversation with you. Please comment, and I will do my best to reply back. After all, this is a dialog, not a lecture! I invite you to follow my blog and share it with like-minded friends.
Professionally, I have been an educator, a minister, and a leader in business. I’ve been speaking, writing and teaching for over 50 years in various settings. Currently, I am a member of the leadership team at the Chick-fil-As in Hendersonville, North Carolina, and an elder at Missio Dei Church in Asheville.
Carolyn is my wonderful bride, and we raised 2 sons. We now live in the mountains of western North Carolina. I am an amateur photographer (and you’ll see some of my work on these pages) and musician. I’m a huge fan of “The Office,” “Parks and Rec,” the NFL, Cleveland sports, and fantasy football. I was on the Browns bandwagon before it was cool.
If you want to get ahold of me, it’s real simple –
